promote the health, safety, right of gainful employment, and welfare of residents of Maryland.

MEDCO, a quasi-governmental nonprofit organization, is guided in our work by our objectives (target industry development, innovation capacity development, support inclusive and equitable economic growth, and strategic placemaking) and our values (equity, integrity, community, and excellence).

Definition of Responsibility

Collaborating with Baltimore County Public School (BCPS), Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), and Workforce Development Business Partners, the Youth Workforce Engagement Coordinator gains insights into the local economy and industry trends, facilitating meaning connections between students and employers to produce networking opportunities that may results in work-based learning experiences.

Through partnership opportunities and events, the aim is to educate local businesses about investing in the long-term success of local youth, cultivating a talent pipeline. This initiative bridges education and business needs, equipping students with industry trends, career pathways, and essential workforce skills for employability and regional economic growth

Funding for this position is provided by the 10-year Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund.
